To construct the mine requires a supply chain including construction, transportation, fabrication and many suppliers, so the beneficial impact on the local community will begin to be felt far before the first coal is extracted. Once operational, there are clear benefits from a modern mine with a positive impact on both the local community and the wider UK economy.

Our highly experienced management team has identified a long term demand for our specific metallurgical coal in Europe, despite the recent closures of some of the UK steel works, and believe that the proposed new mine near Whitehaven has all the attributes to be a successful mine. It is known to offer extensive deposits of high quality metallurgical coal, good transportation links, local mining experience, a wide range of local employment options and good community support. These key elements, coupled with long term demand for the product, will result in a successful mine which brings benefits to business and the economy, on a local and national level.
