West Cumbria Mining is delighted that the Government has agreed with Cumbria County Council’s decision to approve the planning application for the project and has lifted its holding direction.

West Cumbria Mining (WCM) can confirm that the judicial review challenge lodged against Cumbria County Council with West Cumbria Mining named as an interested party, has been withdrawn by the claimant.
Earlier this month the British Government launched its hugely ambitious plans for the ‘COP 26’ UN climate conference which it will host in November.
The WCM Local Liaison Group (LLG) was established in September 2015 and its membership is made up from a cross section of the local community.

West Cumbria Mining is delighted that the Government has agreed with Cumbria County Council’s unanimous decision to approve the planning application for the project and has rejected the request for the project to be ‘called in’.
West Cumbria Mining are pleased that the original unanimous planning approval received for the project has been ratified today by the Development Control Committee of Cumbria County Council.
