WCM is delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Rae as Head of Programme. Ian joins us from NuGen and we feel very fortunate to be able to welcome him into our team. Ian is locally based in West Cumbria and brings with him a wealth of experience in project management, pre-construction and delivery.

Ian grew up in Whitehaven and began his career in the automotive industry serving an apprenticeship with Cumberland Motor Services.  He joined British Nuclear Fuels and spent 28 years working in a variety of roles including environmental monitoring, health physics, plant safety, control system design, installation and commissioning and in the final 15 years focused on project and programme management.  He subsequently was the Head of Site for NuGen at the Moorside site.

It seems rather appropriate that Ian is now moving into the mining industry as his late father was a Bevan Boy during World War II and worked at Harrington No 10 Colliery at Lowca in Cumbria.’

He will work closely with Simon Zanker, WCM’s new Operations Director, and the WCM team to ensure we are prepared and ready for the commencement of construction later in 2019.
