WCM’s Project Geologist, Dennis Rowland, held a morning session with the Cumberland Geological Society recently, as part of a Society day trip introducing ‘Coal and Iron in West Cumbria.’

The aim of the session was to provide an overview of the geology and mining history of the coalfield and an update on the progress of the WCM project which is aiming to mine metallurgical coal from seams off the coast of St Bees Head.
