Julie Rayson, our Haig Office Manager, volunteered to crochet one hundred poppies as part of a project organised by Workington’s Royal British Legion Women’s section (WRBLW).
The WRBLW have been visiting veterans in residential homes within the community and talking about Remembrance. They invited local schools to get involved and work together with the residents of the residential homes to create poppy crafts, bringing together the generations.
Congratulations Julie on completing all the promised poppies for a wonderful cause. Pictured is Julie successfully delivering the poppies to the Workington branch of the Royal British Legion, which will be used in the creation of a weeping window outside the Amathea care home ahead of Remembrance Day.
