West Cumbria Mining (WCM) hosted two public open days in our offices at Haig Museum on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th October.

All members of the public were invited to come along to view our updated external design plans for the mine and related buildings. These designs were modified to incorporate feedback from the local community, who have provided valuable input into the project over the last two years either when they have attended our previous events, completed feedback forms or via emails or website comments.

In addition to viewing the plans, this event is focused on sharing how we will honour our commitment to be a good neighbour, and what that means in terms of day-to-day aspects of the project.

WCM staff were also on hand to answer questions about the mine’s design, future job prospects, sustainability or the local geology.
