Local employment already being supported

West Cumbria Mining’s (WCM) Cumbrian Metallurgical Coal Project recently progressed onto its planning and design phases, as well as further on site exploration works and we are delighted that we have been able to help a number of local people to gain some work experience, and be involved in the project from the early stages.




Agreement Reached on Haig Colliery Interim Solution

Andrew Little and Kerry Pearson of Rowlands Restructuring and Insolvency, joint liquidators of Haig Pit Mining Museum, are pleased to confirm that an agreement has been reached to provide a short term solution to securing the former Haig Colliery site.


West Cumbria Mining – supporting the Whitehaven Miners Memorial Fund

West Cumbria Mining Commits to Open Communications

West Cumbria Mining, the company seeking to develop a new world class metallurgical coal mine in Cumbria, held two public meetings in July 2014 to ensure that everyone had the opportunity to find out about the project plans and have the opportunity to air their views and ask any questions.
