West Cumbria Mining is aiming to be an employer of choice; attracting and retaining the best people. Employees working at Woodhouse Colliery will receive a very competitive benefits package. We fully support gender equality in all roles, underground and surface, as well as encouraging diversity within our workforce.

Around 500 direct jobs will be created at the mine with the aim that 80 percent of these roles are filled by people from the local area.

Subject to gaining planning approval there will be positions available both above and below ground, with roles available for those with previous relevant mining experience, people looking to retrain and school-leavers who are looking to start their career through our apprenticeship scheme.
